  2. This is the boyhood home of George E. Merrick, founder and developer of the City of Coral Gables. This historic landmark originally began as a 1903 frame house, and was added onto in 1910. The house has been restored to the 1920s period and filled with the Merrick family's art, furniture and personal treasures.

  4. May 31, 2023 · The Merrick House is now open and it is a fantastic place to learn the history of beautiful Coral Gables. The docents do a wonderful job of giving an informative tour and the gardens are lovely! Meticulously renovated and maintained this is a little slice of history in the heart of Coral Gables.
