But when I say "steep", I mean that the moderate rated-trails will feel more intense than that for the first 1/3 for an average day-hike person.

  6. We climbed to the top of Mount Beacon in Fishkill yesterday, a round trip hike of about four miles, with excellent views, and easy to moderate hiking. Mt. Beacon is the Highest Peak in the Hudson Highlands. We passed the old casino ruins, incline railway and some great views of the Hudson valley.
