Calibre is a 2018 British psychological thriller film written and directed by Matt Palmer. After a debut at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, it was released on 29 June 2018 on Netflix. It also had a limited release in select Curzon Cinemas in the UK from 21 October to 16 November 2018.

Jan 14, 2023 · Calibre is a fantastic thriller with horror elements. We reviewed it a fair while ago now and really enjoyed it. The ending was fairly straight forward but it’s worth breaking down for the sake of clarity. It goes without saying that this article will contain spoilers.
An aggressive Edinburgh businessman, Marcus, takes his boarding-school friend, Vaughn, whose fiancée is newly pregnant, on a weekend hunting in the Scottish Highlands. Vaughn has never hunted before.
Instead, Calibre (as has already been stated), is maddeningly tense and sometimes hard to watch. It's serious horror on the thriller end of the scale. I remember Stephen King tweeting about how much he liked the film after its release too, so there's even more praise if you needed it!
