Captain EO is a 1986 American 3D science fiction short film shown at Disney theme parks from 1986 until 1998. The movie, starring Michael Jackson , was written by George Lucas , and directed by Francis Ford Coppola (who came up with the name "Captain EO" from the Greek, cf. Eos , the Greek goddess of dawn).
In this 3-D science fiction film that was shown at Disney theme parks, the infamous Captain EO and his ragtag crew are sent on a diplomatic mission through space to deliver a gift to the mysterious and menacing Supreme Leader of a desolate industrial planet.

Review by Kyle Jobin. Captain EO 1986 ★★★½. Rewatched Apr 19 , 2024. "Sir, the ship is in no condition to go into battle. I thought we might start by cleaning Hooter's bunk." What a wild flashback this was. Some of the FX work here has aged like a tasty Romulan Ale.
