Johnny has not heard about Jimmy's death, and the news begins to sober him up. After Slip convinces Johnny that he can get him back into fighting condition in order to earn money to help his mother, Slip, Sach and reporter Gabe Moreno promote a fight card to benefit the Higgins family.
Fighting Fools plot. At a boxing arena in New York City, the Bowery Boys are stunned when their friend, up-and-coming young boxer Jimmy Higgins, is killed during his fight. 'Slip' Mahoney and his best friend Sach track down Jimmy's older brother Johnny, an alcoholic ex-boxer haunted by his past.
