Maynard is astounded by Murks's tale and Murks goes on to tell him that through voodoo rights and devil potions, he has discovered the world between the living and the dead. When Maynard is skeptical, Murks kills him and takes his blood. Later, another figure slips into Maynard's office, going directly to the laboratory storage.
There's no "valley" in Valley of the Zombies, and only one "zombie," played with relish by Ian Keith. At large in a great metropolitan city, Ormand Murks (Keith), recently brought back from the dead, goes on the prowl for human blood, meaning that he's less of a zombie than a vampire (a phenomenon which he "explains" halfway through the picture).
Valley of the Zombies plot "BLOOD MADNESS... Out Of The Fog... Into Your Heart!" dr. Maynard tells Dr. Terry Evans and his nurse, Susan Drake, that blood has been stolen from his lab. He is then visited by Ormand Murks, a man he once sent to a mental asylum and who later died of an operation. Now he is apparently a living dead and needs blood.
