Jun 12, 2021 · The movie directed by Ty Roberts is based on the 2008 book Twelve Mighty Orphans: The Inspiring True Story of the Mighty Mites Who Ruled Texas Football by sportswriter Jim Dent. He got the idea for the book after watching a documentary about Hardy Brown, a former orphan and player for the Mighty Mites team who went on to play in the NFL.
