Audie and Dan Duryea are hired by a mysterious woman to take her across Indian country to her husband. On the way, she tries to seduce Audie by offering to give him Duryea's share of the money if he will help her achieve her real goal: kill Duryea for having killed her husband.
Professional wrangler Ben Lane lassos a wild horse in the desert to replace his lost mount and is stopped by a group of toughs, who prepare to hang him as a horsethief. He is rescued by gunman Frank Jesse, and the two men ride into Perdido, where they are confronted by an attractive blonde, Kelly.
When frontier justice rules, they hand down the accepted sentence for poaching another man’s horse: death by hanging. As the rancher and his cohorts are about to carry out their dirty deed, gunslinger Frank Jesse rides up and saves Ben from the noose.
