Retired British officer Maj. Arthur Hill (Basil Radford) comes up with a novel way to buy a racehorse -- he gets several hundred members of his local community to pitch in as equal part-owners. But things do not go smoothly. First, he manages to purchase the wrong horse, one that has more of an affinity for jumping than racing.
