In this musical, flower merchant Lilli (Evelyn Laye) is barely scraping by on the cold streets of Budapest, Hungary, when her resemblance to brash opera singer Fritzi Vajos (Lilyan Tashman) offers a unique opportunity. When Fritzi's scandalous behavior earns her a forced vacation at the isolated estate of Count Mirko Tibor (John Boles), she hires Lilli to go in her place.
