Joe Davis Jr. (Dick Haymes), a student who dreams of becoming a singer, takes a job at the Diamond Horseshoe nightclub, owned by his father. Joe Sr., preoccupied with convincing his son to stick with school, begins neglecting his girlfriend, Claire (Beatrice Kay).
