May is a 2002 American psychological horror film written and directed by Lucky McKee [3][4] in his directorial debut. Starring Angela Bettis, Jeremy Sisto, Anna Faris, and James Duval, the film follows a lonely young woman (Bettis) traumatized by a difficult childhood, and her increasingly desperate attempts to connect with the people around her.
May (Angela Bettis) is an awkward, lonely young woman who had a troubled childhood due to her "lazy eye" which caused her to feel abnormal and out of place. As a little girl, May's mother takes her to an eye doctor, who suggests that May wear an eye patch to correct her vision.
Adam (Jeremy Sisto), a young man obsessed with fixing wrecked cars, takes a shine to May's oddball ways. But May's strangeness ultimately drives him away, leaving her open...

Like “Carrie,” it is about a woman who has been wounded by society, and finds a deadly revenge. But “May” is not a supernatural film. It follows the traditional outlines of a horror or slasher film, up to a point–and then it fearlessly follows its character into full madness.
Underrated horror gem. I love this film dearly, and I think it’s a fantastic horror film. It was well acted, completely twisted, and even humorous at times. One of the best parts is the main character who is interestingly disturbing and it makes for a great watch.
