Bastien (Guillaume Canet) is in love with two things: his girlfriend, Fabienne (Clotilde Courau), and his job working for Philippe Letzger (Philippe Lefebvre), the smarmy host of a daytime TV talk show. Though Letzger takes advantage of Bastien and treats him badly, Bastien endures it because he idolizes the show's producer, Jean-Louis Broustal (François Berléand).
