Gaius uncovers Aderbad's sinister plan to resurrect the spirits of fallen Roman soldiers to form an undead army aimed at conquering Rome. With the help of the enslaved girl Rhama, Gaius attempts to thwart Aderbad's scheme, leading to a climactic battle between the living and the spectral warriors.
Also known as War of the Zombies, Rome Against Rome was the second to last film from the Galatea production company (some of their other films include Black Sunday, Black Sabbath, Mill of the Stone Women and Ghosts of Rome).
Review by Karl Janssen ★★★ Rome Against Rome has also been released under the title of War of the Zombies, which gives you some idea that there's a horror component to the story. Though it takes place in Roman-occupied Sarmatia, this is really more of a fantasy involving black-magic wizardry.

Soldiers that were escorting a Roman treasure are killed and the treasure stolen by Aderbad (John Drew Barrymore), the leader of a Sarmatian cult.
