In this adaptation of a stage play, wealthy industrialist Alfredo Rossi (Alberto Sordi), who has gotten rich through questionable business practices, crosses paths with four retired legal professionals (Pierre Brasseur, Michel Simon, Charles Vanel, Claude Dauphin) who miss courtroom life.
