Mug Town is a 1942 Universal film starring the Dead End Kids and the Little Tough Guys. [1] Plot. Steve, Tommy, Pig, Ape, and String get chased out of town. During their attempt to hop onto a freight car, Steve dies. The other boys go and tell Alice, Steve's mother about what happened.
Mug Town was the released feature film of actor Bernard Punsly (1923-2004), who entered the U.S. Army in 1943. Following World War II, Punsly went to medical school and became a prominent physician in Southern California.

Steve Bell, Tommy, Pig, Ape, and String are run of town. Steve, while hopping a freight card and trying to avoid the brakeman, is killed. The boys meet Steve’s mother, Alice Bell and Tommy is given a job in the storage garage which she owns jointly with Mack Steward.
