Monster Family (also known as Happy Family) is a 2017 animated monster comedy film directed and produced by Holger Tappe, and co-written by David Safier. It is based on David Safier's 2011 novel Happy Family. The film stars Emily Watson, Nick Frost, Jessica Brown Findlay, Celia Imrie, Catherine Tate, and Jason Isaacs.

- Moana (2016) Suitable for: Kids ages 5+ Rating: PG. Who's in it: Auliʻi Cravalho, Dwayne Johnson, Rachel House, Temuera Morrison. Run time: 103 minutes. The first of many Disney flicks on our list, this musical adventure earns extra points for its killer soundtrack (courtesy of Lin-Manuel Miranda) and total badass heroine (no prince swooping in to rescue her).
This is a list of light-hearted comedies and dramas that are great for the whole family to enjoy. I created this list to focus on films that are upbeat, positive and kid friendly, but still entertaining for adults.

- Paddington (2014 + 2017) Want to start a debate? Ask which is funnier, Paddington or Paddington 2. Paddington has the bathtub scene and the deliciously evil taxidermist Millicent Clyde (Nicole Kidman), while Paddington 2 has the pink prisoner uniforms and the song-and-dance numbers by Phoenix Buchanan (Hugh Grant).
