Apr 4, 2024 · Checking off many blaxploitation boxes, “Black Belt Jones” offers up much of what you would expect from a wild genre mash-up of action, comedy, crime thriller, and of course kung-fu. It features much of what made blaxploitation films popular during their time.
Overview. Jones is a secret agent who has gone into semi-retirement, concentrating instead on teaching the martial arts to inner city youths. The karate school is run by a kindly old coot named Pops ,played by Scatman Crothers. His gambling debts, however, bring the local thug, Pinky, down on him.
