David Armstrong (Bruce Davison) is an eager American archaeology student abroad in Jerusalem as tensions mount between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Despite his utter lack of interest in the region's politics, he is soon drawn into conflicts of his own. First he clashes with a Yale classmate who has become a notorious rebel; then he spars with his archeology professor (Nicol Williamson) over the attentions of a beautiful Israeli woman (Daria Halprin) with her own political agenda.
