Situated more than 3,000 feet above Badwater, Dante’s View gives you an almost bird’s eye view of the valley below and the mountain range across from it. It is one of my favorite places in the park, and here is all the information so you can check it out yourself.
Dante's View provides a panoramic view of the southern Death Valley basin. To the south, the Owlshead Mountains, 30 km (19 mi) away can be seen, and to the north, the Funeral Mountains 50 km (31 mi) distant, are visible beyond Furnace Creek.

Dante's view at 5,476 feet high above the Badwater Basin is just 16 miles south of Furnace Creek Visitor center. After an 1 hour and 45 minute drive from Las Vegas, I finally arrived at Dante's View named after the Dante Alighieri who famously wrote "Divina Commedia".

Jun 7, 2017 · Dante’s View is the primary overlook in Death Valley National Park because it offers premier panoramic views. Below Dante’s View is Badwater Basin, the lowest point in North America. Across the valley rises Telescope Peak, the highest in the park.
Dante's View, Death Valley National Park. Spectacular mountain overlook on the west side of Death Valley, 5,700 feet above Badwater, reached by a paved side road. A short path leads to a summit (Dante's Peak) a little way north, while a longer hike reaches the top of nearby Coffin Peak.
