On one level, The Possessed is a haunting story about a writer (Bernard, played by American actor Peter Baldwin) who finds himself in a world shrouded by darkness and steeped in unreality. A world in which a curse is playing out upon a helpless family — or in which, perhaps, the family is murdering women.
