Jul 23, 2021 · Constitutional rights are the rights of the United States’ people concerning the government’s actions and responsibilities. There are certain actions that the federal government and law enforcement cannot take against the people of the United States because they would be deemed unconstitutional.
The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition. It forbids Congress from both promoting one religion over others and also restricting an individual’s religious practices.

The right of assembly is the individual right of people to come together and collectively express, promote, pursue, and defend their collective or shared ideas. This right is equally important as those of free speech and free press, because, as observed by the Supreme Court of the United States in De Jonge v.
