Synopsis. Dr. Joe Darrow (Kevin Costner) and wife Dr. Emily (Susanna Thompson) Darrow work at a well-known hospital in Chicago. While she specializes in pediatric oncology, he is the head of the emergency room. Occasionally, Emily takes trips to Venezuela to help the native people who are unable to afford health-care.
