Aug 28, 2016 · The Lady of the Dugout uses real buildings and real landscape, no sets or studio lots. This makes it a priceless time capsule. The film is also of personal interest to me. You see, my grandparents were living in Los Angeles when they decided to get a summer place to escape the city and enjoy some country air.

For The Lady of the Dugout (1918) he's filming real wild west outlaws Al & Frank Jennings for one of their spinning tales from back when they were robbing folks in the 1890s. A fine 1910s western feature, with it starring real life outlaws being the real curio here.
