Aspiring actress Molly Barry (Gracie Fields) needs a job, and grumpy retired politician John Graham (Monty Woolley) -- having divorced his wife and shunned his son, Jimmy (Roddy McDowall) -- needs a housekeeper. When Molly takes the position, she begins to realize the extent of the wealthy Graham's unpleasantness.
