Underworld: Evolution is a 2006 American action horror film directed by Len Wiseman from a screenplay by Danny McBride, based on a story by Wiseman and McBride. It is the sequel to Underworld (2003) and the second installment in the Underworld film series.
A sequel to Underworld, this film follows the vampire Selene and the werewolf Michael as they face a new threat from an ancient enemy. Critics panned the film for its convoluted plot, loud action and poor acting.

Underworld: Evolution is the sequel to Underworld, taking place less than thirty minutes after the end of the first film. The next film in release order is the prequel, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. The story after Evolution continues in Underworld: Awakening.
Selene and Michael, a vampire and a hybrid, flee from the Lycans and the remaining vampire elders after the death of Viktor. They seek the truth about their origins and the key to stop the awakened Marcus, the first vampire, from unleashing his brother William, the first lycan.
