Jul 17, 2017 · My answer to the question remains the same today as it has always been: The Message is not a translation and should not be used as your primary Bible. However, as a very free paraphrase, it is sometimes powerful and brilliant while at other times it is seriously off target.

The Message is a film about the rise of Islam on the Arabian Peninsula. It details the life of Muhammad, a citizen of Mecca, a popular trading city at the time, who started preaching about a new vision from God, eventually gaining such a following that he had to be driven out of town by those in power.
