  1. Ohio's Largest and Most Beautiful Cavern. Tours take guests through two different parts of the cavern. The Historic Tour begins at the site of discovery and includes the area that was originally explored from 1897 to 1925. The Natural Wonder Tour takes guests on a 1 mile walk through parts discovered after 1925.

    • Rock House in Hocking Hills State Park. Distance from Downtown Columbus: 54 miles. Rock House is the only true cave structure inside of Hocking Hills State Park.

  4. Explore the caverns at your leisure. Seven audio stations and educational plaques share information about local history, geology, and Native American lore. The tour takes 20 - 30 minutes, depending on your pace. There is one stairwell with 58 steps which is the entrance and exit.

  7. We are open rain or shine — every day — during the season. The cave and gift shops are protected from rain. All other activities are outdoors. While some areas have significant tree cover (walking trail, petting zoo) other areas have no cover from the elements (Treasure Hunt Maze).
