Boke (Harold Keel) and Jim (David Greene) are escaped convicts, a pair on the run and trying to stay free. But they get into a devastating car crash, which catches the attention of writer Murray Byrne (James Donald) and his wife, Eleanor (Valerie Hobson), a married couple living in a nearby cottage.
