The Babe is a biopic of George Herman 'Babe' Ruth. The film follows his seemingly bi-polar life from being abandoned by his father at an orphanage, to the discovery of his tremendous home-run hitting ability and finally to his later days.
Babe first becomes a power hitter and pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. After a falling-out with Red Sox owner Harry Frazee (Peter Donat), Babe is sold to the New York Yankees.
