"Babe" (1995) was a film in which everything led up to the big sheepherding contest, in which a pig that worked like a dog turned out to be the best sheep-pig of them all. "Babe: Pig in the City" is not so plot-bound, although it has the required assortment of villains ...

  4. The city is a miracle of production design, brilliantly conceived. There are special effects of breathtaking skill and small moments of genuine charm. Babe and some of his new friends are adorably endearing. Older kids and teens who are not too embarrassed may appreciate the film's artistry.

The story is an original written by George Miller and not based directly on a Babe book. Here lies the folly.

  6. Feb 21, 2017 · April 12, 2020 Nick Clement. An overlooked classic as Nick Clement gives us his Babe Pig in the City (1998) Review. Instead of lazily attempting to replicate the exact same type of movie magic as the original Babe, director George Miller, who fully took over the creative reigns for the darker but no less spectacular sequel Babe: Pig in the City.
