Holiday in Handcuffs is an enjoyable -- if predictable -- romantic comedy. Hart and Lopez are the quintessential odd couple, proving that, at least in the magical world of Hollywood, opposites do attract. They're both professionals, and they do good work here, supported by a strong cast that includes Markie Post and Timothy Bottoms.

Wuchakk 23 December 2018. "Holiday in Handcuffs" (2007) stars Melissa Joan Hart as the underachiever of a liberal family in the Seattle area. When her beau breaks up with her right before her family's Christmas get-together, she kidnaps a man and forces him to go to the rented cabin as her boyfriend (Mario Lopez).

The great experience on set, says Hart, was only heightened by the natural winter wonderland that served as the backdrop of the film. "All that scenery you see in the background...that wasn’t created, that was there," the actress explains. "We were in Calgary. And it didn’t stop snowing the whole time we were there. It was amazing."
While the weather may have been beautiful, it didn't do any favors for the health of the cast, which included star Mario Lopez as Trudie's kidnapped fake boyfriend. Hart says she enjoyed her time working with co-star Lopez — even if he wasn't always paying attention.
