Katzelmacher. Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s second feature depicts the intolerance of a circle of financially and sexually frustrated friends when an immigrant laborer (Fassbinder) moves to their Munich neighborhood.
Synopsis. Jorgos (Rainer Werner Fassbinder) a Greek immigrant moves to Germany for a fresh start and employment opportunities. Initially many of the local men greet him openly and he attracts the interest of Marie (Hanna Schygulla) and Elisabeth (Irm Hermann).
A group of young slackers spend most of their time hanging out in front of a Munich apartment building. When a Greek immigrant named Jorgos moves in, however, their aimless lives are shaken up. Soon new tensions arise both within the group and with Jorgos.
