Kingman is a fantastic nature museum and planetarium located in a beautiful arboretum setting. Dinosaurs, human embryos, a giant polar bear, and lots more. My kids, ages 3 & 4, were engaged the entire time and still haven't stopped talking about it.

Kingman Museum is southwest Michigan's only Natural History museum. We have been a part of the Battle Creek community for over a century, beginning as one of the first Public School-owned museums and expanding to include hundreds of educational exhibits and a state of the art planetarium.

Our Story. Kingman Museum’s roots go deep into our community’s past. The first collections were acquired during the Civil War. When Central or No. 1 Building of the Battle Creek Public Schools opened on April 10, 1871, it contained a large “museum room” where these collections were displayed.
