In the early 1960s, Alan Price formed the Tyneside group ‘The Alan Price Rhythm and Blues Combo.’ It eventually evolved into the band ‘The Animals’. During 1964-65, The Animals released three albums, titled ‘The Animals On Tour’, ‘Animal Tracks’, and ‘The Animals On Tour’.
The Animals. Formed in Newcastle upon Tyne during 1962 and 1963 when Eric Burdon joined the Alan Price Rhythm and Blues Combo, the original line-up comprised Eric Burdon (vocals), Alan Price (organ and keyboards), Hilton Valentine (guitar), John Steel (drums), and Bryan “Chas” Chandler (bass).
He eventually formed his own band in 1961, which he named The Alan Price Rhythm and Blues Combo. Initially the personnel was fairly fluid, but within 12 months they had established a settled lineup of Eric Burdon (vocals), Hilton Valentine (guitar), Chas Chandler (bass), John Steel (drums), and Price on keyboards.
