Mar 10, 2023 · The Long Ryders founded alt-country with their 1984 album, Native Sons, and helped codify and popularise Americana throughout their career. Crossing Byrds/Buffalo Springfield electric guitars and harmonies with a Sex Pistols/Ramones rhythm section was their idea and their legacy.
