  1. Lenny Pickett (born April 10, 1954) is an American saxophonist and musical director of the Saturday Night Live band. From 1973 to 1981 he was a member of the band Tower of Power . Pickett has worked extensively as a session musician for a wide range of performers and genres.

  2. He is currently musical director for NBC's Saturday Night Live and has been the saxophone soloist for SNL since 1985. He wrote articles for “Saxophone Journal” and he contributed a chapter to the instructional book “Sax Lessons With The Greats”.
