The band was unnamed from December 1976 until March 1977. Initially calling themselves Shooze in March 1977, followed by a stint as The Generators, Kix formed with Ronnie "10/10" Younkins and Donnie Purnell (from the band Jaxx) in December 1976 in Hagerstown, Maryland, and Frederick, Maryland.
