Jan 27, 2021 · One of London’s treasured outdoor spaces, Kensington Gardens is a sprawling 265 acre park fit for kings and queens. These beautiful gardens were designed in the 17th century as a private park for King William III and Queen Mary II for their royal residence at Kensington Palace, which is located on the western edge of Kensington Gardens.
Kensington Gardens, Central London, between Kensington and Hyde Park. Kensington Gardens takes up a large portion of Central London. It is lodged between the Kensington area (west and south) and Hyde Park (east). Just south of the park are several prominent London cultural institutions.
Kensington Gardens has something to inspire at every turn. For Victorian horticultural splendour, stroll through the 400m long South Flower Walk with its mixture of specimen trees and shrubs typical of the era. In shade and shelter the walk is punctuated with colour and scent throughout the year.
Kensington & Hyde Park. A delightful collection of manicured lawns, tree-shaded avenues and basins immediately west of Hyde Park, the picturesque expanse of Kensington Gardens is technically part of Kensington Palace, located in the far west of the gardens.
