    • The Red House. One of the main tourist draws and best things to do in Ximending (both in the daytime and at night), the Red House is a beautiful red brick building that has served many purposes over the years since it opened in 1908.
    • Ximending LBGTQ+ Bars / Taipei’s Gay Capital. By night, the retail side of the Red Brick House gives way to the hustle and bustle of some of Ximending’s best bars and nightlife.
    • Ximending Shopping and Souvenir shops. Ximending is retail heaven! Although Taipei has lots of superb malls, it is actually nice to roam outdoors around Ximending and browse all the independent stalls (some rather whacky!)
    • Gachapons galore / Claw machines and amusements. Taiwan (and Taipei in particular) love their amusement machines and arcades. Their current favourite craze is the claw machines, where you can win both practical (iPhones) and novelty gifts (we even once saw a dedicated Ferrero Rocher arcade machine in Ximending!).
    • Visit the Red House. The Red House is a historical gem and one of the best things to see in Ximending. This old traditional building made with red bricks stands out in Taipei.
    • Take a photo at the LGBTQ+ Rainbow street. Right next to the Red House, you can see the street painted with rainbow colors. Indeed, The Red House area transforms at night into a vibrant LGBTQ+ scene.
    • Enjoy a cup of tea at the beautiful Eighty-Eightea Rinbansyo. This beautiful tea house called Rinbansyo, is a stunning contrast to the rest of the modern area of Ximending.
    • Visit Nishi Honganji Temple. Right next to Rinbansyo, you will find a rare remains of a Japanese Temple: Nishi Honganji. Nishi Honganji in Ximending, Taipei, is actually a branch of the original Nishi Honganji Temple located in Kyoto, Japan.
    • Explore the neon-lit streets of Ximending Walking District. Spend your time wandering through the bustling entertainment and commercial district in Taipei.
    • Head to Yong He Soy Milk for a traditional Taiwanese breakfast. Editor's Note: There's no photo available at the time of writing. Make certain to head over to Yong He Soy MIlk before 9 am if you hope to beat the crowds of tourists and locals.
    • Wander through the red brick alleyways of Bopiliao Historical Block. Step back in time as you walk through the newly revived Bopilao neighbourhood located in the WanHua district.
    • Visit the stunning Lungshan Temple. Step through the ornately decorated archway with columns accented with dragon carvings and gold under the pagoda roof of Lungshan Temple to attend morning worship with the locals.
