La Croix-Rousse, surnommée la colline qui travaille, est la deuxième colline de la ville de Lyon. Située au nord de la Presqu’île, elle abritait jadis des fortifications censées défendre la ville.
La Croix-Rousse (Red Cross) is the name of a hill and the neighborhoods on that hill. The hill gets its name from the reddish-brown cross which stood on the hill in 1560. The hill is divided into two distinct neighborhoods, one on the slopes and the other on the hilltop plateau.
