The park at Alamo Square is pretty nice, but the main attraction is definitely the Painted Ladies. If you're in San Francisco, you pretty much HAVE to check out Alamo Square! It's really easy to get here by bus - the bus stop is literally right next to Alamo Square (and if you're leaving from Union Square, you only have to take one bus down).

- The Mill. A joint venture between Josey Baker Bread and Four Barrel Coffee, The Mill serves deftly poured cappuccinos and drip coffee alongside freshly baked artisanal toast and other treats.

Alamo Square Park was sculpted in the 1890s, as neighborhood formed. How To Get There: From Church Street at Market, take the 22 Fillmore bus to Hayes Street. Alamo Square Park is one block over to the west, at Steiner Street. Or from Hayes Valley, go west on Hayes Street about three blocks past the commercial sector.
