Patrick Joseph Toomey Jr. (/ ˈ t uː m iː / TOO-mee; born November 17, 1961) is an American businessman and politician who served as a United States senator from Pennsylvania from 2011 to 2023. A member of the Republican Party , he served three terms as the U.S. representative for Pennsylvania's 15th congressional district , from 1999 to 2005.
