Jon Huntsman, Jr. (born March 26, 1960, Palo Alto, California, U.S.) is an American politician who served as governor of Utah (2005–09) and as U.S. ambassador to China (2009–11) and to Russia (2017–19). He sought the Republican presidential nomination in 2012. Huntsman was the eldest of nine children in an upper-class Mormon family.
