Deval Laurdine Patrick (b. July 31, 1956, Chicago, Illinois) (D) is the former governor of Massachusetts. He was first elected in November 2006 and took office on January 4, 2007, becoming the first Black governor in the state and the second in the history of the United States. He served two terms, leaving office in 2015.
