Their route is called the Via Dolorosa (Way of Sorrows). This is also the name of the principal street they follow, a narrow marketplace abustle with traders and shoppers, most likely similar to the scene on the first Good Friday. It is unlikely that Jesus followed this route on his way to Calvary.

It follows nine liturgical stations through the Old Town of Jerusalem for about 500 m. It ends at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, were it is believed that Jesus died on the cross and was buried nearby.
