Michel Rocard AC OQ (French: [miʃɛl ʁɔkaʁ]; 23 August 1930 – 2 July 2016) was a French politician and a member of the Socialist Party (PS).
Michel Rocard was a French public servant and politician who was premier of France from 1988 to 1991. Upon graduating from the elite National School of Administration, Rocard became an inspector of finances in 1958, and he subsequently rose to high posts in the government accounting service.
