He served in both houses of the Oregon Legislative Assembly, as the state Insurance Commissioner, as the Attorney General, and as an Associate Justice on the Oregon Supreme Court .

Jan 1, 2003 · Ted Kulongoski was born in rural Missouri on November 5, 1940. His father died shortly after Ted was born and nuns in a Catholic boys home in St. Louis raised him. After high school, Ted enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in the 11th and 12th Marine Regiments as a forward observer with the artillery.
