Norvell Kay Granger (née Mullendore; born January 18, 1943) is an American politician from the U.S. state of Texas serving as the U.S. representative for Texas's 12th congressional district since 1997.
Elected to her 14th term in 2022 by an overwhelming margin, Kay has earned her reputation in Congress as a hard-working, tough and principled leader on the issues that matter most to the people she serves.
Since making history in 1997 as the first Republican woman to represent Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives, Granger has earned her reputation in Congress as an influential conservative leader. In 2022, Granger was elected by her colleagues to serve as the Chairman of the powerful House Appropriations Committee in the 118th Congress.
