Hale Library is the main Kansas State University library. It was dedicated in 1997 after a multiyear renovation and expansion project of the original campus library building, Farrell Library, which opened in 1927.

Feb 15, 2021 · Most of Hale Library is open to students, faculty and the community today, including the second through fourth floors. The first floor opened on Jan. 25. Construction is complete on most of the building, including the historic Farrell Library and the Great Room.
May 26, 2021 · The catastrophic damage to the library was a hit to the entire K-State community, as Hale Library is often viewed as the heart of campus, and a place where everyone is welcome to share a quiet moment of reflection or study.
6 days ago · The K-State Libraries study rooms are open for individual and group study. Reservations for collaboration rooms be made up to one month in advance and reservations for public conference rooms may be made up to four months in advance.

Jan 19, 2024 · Hale Library has two large events spaces, the Hemisphere Room (Hale 581) and the Dr. Susan K. Peterson Room (Hale 181), that can seat up to 100 people. Colleges and departments can reserve these rooms for university-related events.
